Since its establishment in 1957, the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) has brought together scientists, engineers, and practitioners from around the world to advance the science and technology of automation, systems and control for the benefit of humanity.
Our conferences, symposia, and workshops provide forums for scientific exchange and collaboration; our journals disseminate advances in the field; and our Technical Committees bring together expertise spanning fundamental theory and methodologies, as well as a broad range of applications.
IFAC creates a collaborative framework for all these activities thanks to the efforts of its many dedicated volunteers.
It is a great honour for me to be part of this community of volunteers and to serve IFAC as its President.
I will do my best to guide the Federation through this triennium, which brings important opportunities as well as significant challenges for our field.
Rapid technological change is transforming science, industry, and society, while pressing societal needs call for new and innovative solutions. IFAC has much to contribute to meeting these challenges and to the continued development of our field.
I warmly invite researchers, engineers, educators, and students in automation, systems and control to become IFAC Affiliates, engage in our activities, and take an active part in the advancement of our Federation.
