Welcome Message from the TC9.3 Chair 2023–2026

Welcome to the IFAC Technical Committee on Smart Cities (TC 9.3). The committee promotes research and education in control for smart cities, including energy systems, transportation, water distribution, security, and sustainability.

Welcome Message from the Chair

In a city, have you thought about … 

  • Smart buildings – energy efficient, comfortable, and safe
  • Energy systems – economically and reliably operated, renewable energized, and self-healing
  • Intelligent transportation – avoid traffic jams, coordination among the vehicles and between the vehicle and the road
  • Water distribution system – distribute the clean water to the user, reduce the loss
  • Security – emergency response, resilience, city monitoring
  • Carbon & Pollution control – monitor carbon emission and pollution, reduce pollution and to achieve carbon neutrality

or any other problems that could make our cities smart by control, then this might be the right TC for you. In this TC, we promote the research and education for the control for smart cities through various aspects. Workshops, symposiums, and special sessions in conferences will be organized and technically sponsored by this TC. More activities will be announced soon.
