TC 9.2: Systems and Control for Societal Impact

As automated systems become more capable, their effects depend on how people and institutions respond. Those responses, in turn, change the systems we seek to understand and control, as well as the automation itself. This feedback raises fundamental questions about modeling, decision-making, safety, and human agency.

TC 9.2 brings together researchers and practitioners who address these questions through systems and control. Our interests include cyber-physical-human systems, human–autonomy collaboration, and the societal effects of automation. We aim to develop rigorous models and methods that help us understand these interactions and design better systems.

If your work connects with these questions, I invite you to take part in TC 9.2.
