Control in agriculture, biological and medical systems, bioprocesses, and the modelling and control of environmental systems.

  • Welcome Message from the TC8.4 Chair 2023–2026

Welcome to the IFAC Technical Committee on Biosystems and Bioprocesses. The committee focuses on modeling, control, and automation for life sciences, biotechnological processes, systems biology, and synthetic biology.

  • Welcome Message from the TC8.3 Chair 2023–2026

Welcome to IFAC Technical Committee 8.3. The committee focuses on the monitoring, modeling, and control of environmental systems to support sustainable and informed decision-making for climate, natural resources, and renewable energy systems.

  • Welcome Message from the TC8.1 Chair 2023–2026

Welcome to IFAC Technical Committee 8.1 on Control in Agriculture. The committee focuses on automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies to support sustainable agricultural production and bioproduction systems.

  • Scope of TC8.4

The world’s economic future rests largely on the so-called bio-economy: the production of renewable biological resources and their conversion into food, bioenergy, and products via the innovative and efficient use of technologies derived from industrial biotechnology.

  • Scope of TC8.3

The environmental systems considered encompass the atmosphere (including air pollution and climate change), land (involving forests, biomasses, soil contamination, etc.), water resources (covering surface and groundwater, marine and coastal waters), and renewable energy systems.

  • Scope of TC8.2

Experimental, clinical and feasibility studies are particularly welcome contributions. The symposium covers all aspects of biomedicine, physiology, biology, pharmaceutical and epidemiological problems interconnected through multidisciplinarity with systems engineering.

  • Scope of TC8.1

TC 8.1 Control in Agriculture promotes research and development in automatic control, automation, sensing-for-control, modeling, estimation, decision support, optimization, mechatronics, and robotics for agricultural production systems.
